The A-stand is the most casual sign a business owns — it lives on the ground rather than the wall, folds flat, and comes in at the end of the day. That temporary, low-to-the-ground nature is what it's for: it carries the things that change, the lunch deal, today's specials, a sale, an event, or simply an arrow nudging people off the street and through the door. Cafés, bars, restaurants, salons and small shops all use one, and it's often the piece with the most personality, since nobody expects it to be formal.
Two things shape the design. First, it's double-sided and approached from both directions, so each face has to work on its own for someone coming either way down the pavement — the same layout on both, or two takes on the message. Second, it sits low and close, read by someone already on foot a step or two away, which means it can afford more words than a billboard and often leans into hand-lettering, chalkboard styles and a bit of wit. The frame comes in plenty of forms — chalk A-board, printed snap-frame, timber, a swinging pendulum base — so seeing the artwork in the actual frame, out on a real street, is how you tell whether it reads.
In the sets: the stand on a pavement or by a shopfront, straight on and at an angle, both faces shown, so you can present the design in place or on its own. Each is a layered PSD with smart objects — the artwork sits on its own layer, so replacing it leaves the frame, surface, lighting and surroundings untouched.
