It keeps everything that makes DL convenient — it drops into a standard DL envelope and stands in a brochure rack — while giving you four surfaces instead of one. That makes it a step up from a single DL flyer without becoming a full tri-fold brochure: enough room for a short menu, a price list, an event with a bit of detail, or a mailer that needs an outside to get opened and an inside to do the work.
Opened out, the two inside panels sit side by side as one wider surface, so artwork can run across the spread rather than staying boxed in a single tall column the way it has to on a flat DL. The crease lands down the centre of that spread, so it's worth keeping faces and small type off the fold, and treating the cover as the side that has to earn the open.
In the sets: closed on the cover and open across the spread, standing, tented and shot flat from above, so you can present the cover and the inside in one go. Each is a layered PSD with smart objects — the artwork sits on its own layer, so replacing it leaves the fold, lighting and shadow untouched.
