Two to a sheet is the whole economics of it. Printers gang them up and cut, so a run costs about half what the same job costs full size, and anyone can produce them on a home printer and trim down the middle. That's how it became the size for gig and event flyers, community board notices, coupons, school and church handouts, the stack that sits by a register — work that gets made in quantity and given away.
Being small is the design brief. There's room for one image, one message and a short line of detail, and not much more, so the ones that work commit to a single idea rather than shrinking a full-page layout into it. It's also worth knowing this isn't A5: at 5.5 × 8.5 in it's a little wider and a little shorter, so artwork built to A5 needs refitting rather than scaling, and the margins are where you'll notice it first.
In the sets: flat from above, held in a hand, pinned to a board and stacked, so you can present it clean or sit it in a real scene. Each is a layered PSD with smart objects — the artwork sits on its own layer, so replacing it leaves the lighting and shadow untouched.
