Unlike a flat flyer or a bi-fold, it reveals itself in stages — cover, then the first flap, then the full open — so the content has a running order, and getting that order wrong is the classic tri-fold mistake. There's a physical catch too: on the common roll fold, the panel that tucks inside has to sit a couple of millimetres narrower than the others, or it won't close flat.

Closing to a full A-size is what separates this from the slim rack brochures: every panel is a whole page rather than a narrow column, so you're really laying out a six-page piece — room for proper photography, a spread that runs across three pages, or a page each for a product. A5 closes to something easier to hand over, A6 to a compact leaflet, and the same artwork moves between them without refitting since the proportions match.

In the sets: closed, mid-open and laid flat, tented and shot straight down, so you can present the cover and the full inside in one go. Each is a layered PSD with smart objects — the artwork sits on its own layer, so replacing it leaves the folds, light and shadow untouched.
