A bi-fold is a single sheet folded once, giving you four panels — a cover, a back and two inside pages that open as a spread.

It sits between a flat handout and a full brochure: enough room for a menu, a programme, a price list or a short bit of product info, without the cost or the page count of a stitched booklet. The catch a flat flyer doesn't have is the cover — folded, you're hiding half your content and betting the outside makes someone open it, so it pays to design the cover as the thing that earns the open rather than a title page.
A4 folds down to A5 and is the common one for menus and event handouts; A5 folds to A6 for something lighter to give away; A6 folds smaller still, closer to a table tent or a pocket card. Opened, the two inside panels read as one wide surface, so artwork can run across the spread the way it can't on a single sheet — just remember the crease lands down the centre, so keep faces and small type off the fold.
In the sets: closed on the cover and open flat, tented and shot from above, so you can present the cover and the inside spread in one go. Each is a layered PSD with smart objects — the artwork sits on its own layer, so replacing it leaves the fold, light and shadow untouched.
