A sticker is the free agent — die-cut to any shape, peeled off a sheet or roll, and stuck wherever someone likes: a laptop, a water bottle, a lamppost. The cut line is part of the design, so it wants a clear silhouette and a border that reads against any background it lands on, since you don't control what's behind it. It also usually sits flat, so the artwork stays true — what you see is close to what gets stuck. These are brand and merch stickers, packaging seals, promo giveaways and the pack of shapes an illustrator sells.
A label has less freedom and a harder surface. It's applied to a product — a jar, a bottle, a tin, a box — and has to wrap that shape without buckling, so a flat design meets a curve the moment it goes on, and a straight line round a bottle bows unless you allow for it. The material joins in too: a glossy label pops, a matte or textured stock reads premium, a transparent one lets the product show through. So the two share a roll but pull opposite ways — one you design for freedom, the other for fit — which is why it helps to see a die cut peel and a label wrap in the same set before either goes to print.

Each is a layered PSD with smart objects — the artwork sits on its own layer, so replacing it leaves the surface, cut, curve and shadow untouched.
