It's tiny and it's looked at from twenty centimetres away, which is a different design problem from anything bigger. There's room for a name, a role, a couple of contact lines and a mark — and the discipline is deciding what to leave off, because a crowded card reads as busy the instant it's picked up. Most of the craft goes into hierarchy and spacing at a size where a millimetre shows: what's the one thing someone reads first, and how much air can you afford around it.
Held that close, the physical card does half the talking — the weight of the stock, an uncoated or soft-touch finish, a spot of foil, a rounded corner or a painted edge all land before the layout does, which is why a mockup matters here more than on a poster. Both sides are in play, and the smart split is usual: the front for the name and identity, the back for contact details or a single bold graphic.
In the sets: front and back, held in a hand, stacked and shot close from above, so you can present the card clean or sit it in a real scene. Each is a layered PSD with smart objects — the artwork sits on its own layer, so replacing it leaves the stock, lighting and shadow untouched.
