This is out-of-home: the poster wheat-pasted to a hoarding or a construction fence, and the citylight — the illuminated portrait panel behind glass in a bus shelter, a station or a shopping street. The citylight is the premium end, lit from within so it glows after dark and reads in a scrolling frame that rotates several ads in one case, which is why it carries film, fashion, tech and cultural campaigns rather than a flyer's worth of information.
The brief is set by the person walking or waiting past. Dwell time is a few seconds at a shelter and less than one from a moving bus, so these work on a single image, a short line and a logo — a headline that needs reading twice has already lost. Being backlit changes the artwork too: deep colours and strong contrast come alive when they're lit through, while pale tones and fine detail wash out. And at roughly 120 by 175 cm behind glass, scale and resolution are the whole game — a mockup in a real street shows whether it holds at that size and in that light before it's printed two metres tall.
In the sets: the panel in a bus shelter and on a street, straight on and at an angle, lit and by day, so you can present the design in a real setting or clean. Each is a layered PSD with smart objects — the artwork sits on its own layer, so replacing it leaves the panel, glass, lighting and reflections untouched.
